Description: Mr. Grumble purchased this motel in 1970 from a rather shady looking fellow. His goal was to class the place up a bit, try to attract a more distinguished customer base, although he still rented out the middle room by the hour when requested. He made a more money off those than overnight visits for the first few years he was in business. He tried to turn the rooms into themes. He turned Room 1 into an outdoors lodge looking room and Room 3 into a family friendly room with a crib. Though, the walls are a bit thin for a motel, so who knows if that will go over too well.
One major renovation was the addition of the Honeymoon suite: a luxurious getaway for any couple, especially the newlywed variety. Featuring its very own hot tub, it was a bit bulky, and it definitely didn’t look very romantic but it was defiantly a luxury item for the time period. The suite comes with everything the new couple could ever ask for, including a walk out porch to their own private picnic area, overlooking the pool.
Some notes about the lot: I have it set as a hangout, so townies will randomly visit. There is also a cash register that sells nothing so there is always a sim working behind the desk. I originally made this lot as a set for a story I was writing, but decided to update it and actually paint and furnish the whole thing instead of just the front for this contest. Hope you enjoy it in all its 70’s glory.
