Full House- Cast and Residence

I built the house from the popular 90s TV show "Full House", including the cast, for a contest on the Sims 3 Forum. "You're old familiar friends are just waiting right around the bend..."

You can check them out on the exchange. Here are the links:

I chose to base the house on screenshots from Season 3. I had two reasons for this- household size and age spacing. Later seasons would have added Becky and the Twins, and this is the only season where the age difference between the girls can be demonstrated using Sims- in other seasons DJ and Stephanie are both children or both teenagers, or Michelle and Stephanie are both children. This is the only season where the three have a distinct age difference that can be realized within the confines of the Sims 3. In season 3 DJ is 13, Stephanie is 7, and Michelle turns 3!

I based the appearances of the Sims off of the cover of the box set for the Season 3 DVDs, with a few minor alterations. I used an alternate picture for Danny, and I noticed that the box set makes Joey's hair look short and brown when it is evident watching any given episode that it is actually blond and shaggy. I also based the astrological sign of each Sim on the birthday of the actor who portrayed the character.

Traits and Lifetime Wishes

I made Danny a Neat, Good, Family Oriented, Never Nude Perfectionist, with the Lifetime Wish of Star News Anchor. His most memorable traits from the show were definitely his neatness and the perfectionism with which he maintained everything, and of course his Lifetime Wish represents his character's career on the fictional morning talk show, "Wake Up San Francisco".

The obvious trait choices for Jesse were Virtuoso, Flirty, Vehicle Enthusiast, Daredevil and Schmoozer. His musical prowess, as well as his flirty nature, were his central most character attributes, though he was also vocal about his love of cars and motorcycles, and relied heavily on his schmoozing ability in social situations. The Daredevil trait was a tough choice for the final trait, but was based on an episode where he is revealed to have the nickname "Dr. Dare" and even rode his motorcycle around the edge of the roof of a tall building. His Lifetime Wish is Hit movie composer, to best accent his desire to be a star in the music industry.

Good sense of Humor was an obvious trait for Joey, since he is always cracking jokes and doing impressions. That also made childish an obvious choice, especially given his love of cartoons and other tendacies more geared towards children. I also made him good, easily impressed and friendly. His Lifetime Wish is Super Popular, to utilize his sense of humor to its best.

DJ was always very studious on the show, which is why I choose bookwrom for her. Familiy oriented, charismatic and frienly also seemed like solid choices. Stephanie is friendly, has a good sense of humor and is excitable. I made Michelle friendly and Good.

The house was particularly challenging to assemble. It is very evident watching the show that parts of the house's orientation make no sense, looking at the front facing view from the opening credits and even looking at the rooms from one area to the next.

For instance, the stairs in both the living room and kitchen have been shown to end at the same stairwell, despite the fact they clearly go in two different directions and are on opposite ends of the house. DJ and Stephanie's room shares a wall with the bathroom, but there is clearly a window in that wall that see's outside. Michelle's window is equally odd, since the wall its built into faces the the area above the living room (A two story ceiling). This window clearly looked outside on the show, but the architecture dictates it must be indoors. The craziest part of the house is the fact the entrance is clearly on the second story, but the kitchen exit is on ground level! I guess it can be explained by the hills of San Fransisco, so that's what I did with the lot. I made it into a hill!

I put a bunch of comparison shots below, First there will be the real screen shots from the show and than the Sim's creations underneath. Screenshots were hard to come by, so I used netflix to get the DVDs and make my own all from Season 3.
